Deliciously Decadent are a small Australian business just starting out, but they're already making a big impression. I am lucky enough to know the manager's daughter, and was given permission to do this review! (Thank you!)

Now, you might ask, what does this have to do with writing? A fair question. But all writers have habits. And two of my writing habits are: to have a candle lit whilst I write (not an uncommon practise,) and if I get stuck on a section or have writers block, I take a bath. What are the products this company provides? Soaps, melts and oils. Exactly what I need as part of my writing routine. :)

I've been sent a package full of wonderful smelling products and here's my thoughts on them.

First off, I should mention some overall information about the products. Everything is handmade, either from goats milk or soy, and the essential oils used are from a company called Luxaroma.

Wild frangipani Oil:

The oil comes with 5 wooden sticks so you can dip them into the oil and perfume whichever room you would like. I ended up spreading this oil into 4 different oil holders around my house.

The wild Frangipani is a delightful flowery smell but it's not overpowering. Each dip lasts 1-2 weeks, (depending on how generous with the oil you are,) before you have to top up the wooden sticks.

I loved this product. I'm still using it in my house and will continue to do so for a long time as it doesn't show any signs of running out!

The presentation is wonderful with a really cute glass container so it looks nice sitting next to the sticks in their jar. I also loved how this packaging can be reused and is more environmentally friendly.

Fragrance Wafters:

Blackberry and Vanilla

This was my favourite wafter scent. The wafter hangs in your wardrobe or can be put in your draw to keep your clothes scented whilst giving you a nice uplifting aroma.

The wafters come in a rose shape which is really dainty, and are contained in a white bag.

The smell lasts for about 1 month, if you like a light smell they last even longer!

Black Fig and Guava

These are lovely products and are great gifts for friends or family.

The white bag could easily be reused for another wafter, to keep your jewelry inside or even to package a future gift.

Melts:

Lemongrass and Sage, Vanilla Caramel, Joop Homme, Coffee Bean and Coconut, Sex on the Beach and Lotus Flower.

I got so much in this bag!

These are six melts I was given in various different scents. For anyone who doesn't know what a melt is, it's similar to a candle but you light a fire, or use an electric melter, below the jar where the melt is contained and as it is heated it melts and gives off it's scent.

So here are the 6 scents I was given;

Lemongrass and Sage: Clean and calming.

Vanilla Caramel: Very sweet. Really good for a large room. (My male friend's favourite!)

Joop Homme: Happy

Coffee Bean and Coconut: Great for a work space and to get you in the mood for writing.

Sex on the Beach: Sweet and fun.

Lotus Flower: Relax.

The smells lasted for around 48-52 hours heated time and they get lighter as time goes on.

As someone who normally uses candles I really liked this product. If you're into fire safety and you use the electric melter then these are a much safer option whilst still providing the same calming effect. You can get electric melts in various different designs so if it's the glow of the flame you enjoy then you can get a melter which creates the same illusion.

I always love to relax with a nice smell when I write or on an evening after a long day whilst I read or watch a movie, so these were perfect for me.

The only thing I did not like was the packaging. The melt is tipped out so it just needs to be functional, but I would prefer something more easily recycled (plastic can be recycled but currently it is not guaranteed to be done well.) However, the product is amazing! And so this could be something which changes overtime as the company grows.

Goats Milk Soap:

Lotus Flower

I used this soap every day since I received this wonderful package. It lasted for around 1 month.

As said in the opening of this review, the soaps are made from goat's milk. It felt so good on my skin and smelt amazing. :)

Body Scrub Bar:

Coffee Bean and Vanilla.

Love, love, love, love!

Normally when you get a scrub, it comes in a container and you dip your hand in to spread it over yourself. For me, this always means the scrub becomes watery and, subsequently, not as good. In comes the scrub bar! This is such a good idea and makes so much more sense.

The coffee bean and vanilla scrub bar was very easy to use and I loved the smell. It always made me feel more awake and refreshed.

I used this bar about once a week, and believe it will last the same length of time as the soap bar. So spread 1 month of every day use over 1 week use and you get... 28 uses which is 7 months of use! So worth it!

In conclusion:

I loved this package. The scrub bar, melts and oil were my favourite products but I enjoyed and would happily get any of these items again. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink. ;)

Everything was handmade and presented in such a lovely and homely fashion. It was so sweet how all of the labels were hand written. Even the bag the products arrived in was tied with string.

If you're looking for a gift for a family member, friend or partner, or even just want to pamper yourself, then I would definitely recommend Deliciously Decadent. It's suitable for men and women and with so many scents you'll definitely find something to suit you!
