Eve; The Awakening, by Jenna Moreci
I've been wanting to read this book for a while as a big fan of Jenna Moreci's Authortube. It's not a book I would normally have picked up as I generally don't read Sci Fi, but it is always good to broaden your horizons.
The book follows to story of Eve who is a Chimera, a sort of super human. The world hates her and strange aliens are trying to kidnap and dissect her kind. Set in a futuristic America with holograms, but most other things are recognisable to today, Eve starts collage and a whole new war.
Ultimately, I enjoyed reading. The characters were really good, the writing style smooth and polished. I guessed the turn of events but I often do when I read, it's my own curse. My only criticism was that all of the chapters were very long. But I know from watching Jenna's youtube page that this is her preference, and an understandable one. I personally prefer varying lengths of chapters and a few short are useful because I always try to read upto the end of a chapter. Not a book I could pick up for a quick read.
Never the less, a good read :)
